Precision data analysis reveals Klopp's best successor is not Xabi Alonso

'The data analysis didn't agree with public opinion. There is a real successor to Klopp'

In the English Premier League, Liverpool is currently in the midst of a fierce league title fight. With 26 games played, the Reds are at the top of the league with 60 points, but are narrowly trailed by second-place Manchester City (59 points) and third-place Arsenal (58 points). It's a close race, so it's hard to call the title.

But after the season, there's an even bigger task ahead. Finding a successor to Jürgen Klopp, 57, who has announced that he will leave the club at the end of the season. Along with maintaining their league lead, this is another priority for Liverpool. The club is currently considering a number of candidates, but here"s the most publicized one. This is Xabi Alonso, 43, who is currently managing Bayer Leverkusen in the German Bundesliga, where he is undefeated this season. Local media outlets have suggested that Alonso is the favorite to succeed Klopp.

However, an interesting report has emerged that suggests that the true successor to Klopp is someone other than Alonso. What's more, it's based on statistics from a specialized data analysis company. It's quite convincing.

'Data analysts are claiming that 39-year-old Ruben Amorim of Sporting is better than Alonso as the next Liverpool manager,' TBR Football reported on May 25 (KST). With many local media outlets and casual Liverpool fans already viewing Alonso as an alternative to Klopp, a completely different perspective has emerged.

This claim is based on data from Carteret Analytics, a data analytics company that provides detailed managerial evaluation metrics to clubs in the EPL and other divisions. According to the BBC, the company's data analysts calculate eight detailed metrics to evaluate managers in the EPL and 토토 other leagues. The eight metrics are: goals scored, strategic information, tactical command, attacking coefficient, success-adjusted attacking coefficient, shot conversion, total possession (home and away), and overall rating.

According to this formula, Klopp's overall rating of 151 is by far the highest in the EPL. He is followed by Germany national team coach Julian Nagelsmann, Bayern Munich manager Thomas Tuchel, and Tottenham manager Enze Postecoglou in second, third, and fourth place. Alonso's rating, however, is very low at just 106 points, with only Brighton manager Roberto De Jong having a lower rating of 71.3 points.

Amorim, on the other hand, has an overall rating of 144.7, which is only slightly lower than Klopp's. On the contrary, he scores higher than Klopp in 'Strategic Information', 'Tactical Command' and 'Success Adjusted Attack Factor'. Unsurprisingly, he's much higher than Alonso in these categories. In addition, Alonso scored 257.6 points in the 'goal achievement' category, which is more than 200 points lower than Amorim. It's also 300 points lower than Klopp.

This is not a generalized assessment, but a precise data analysis of a manager's capabilities, and it suggests that Amorim is far superior to Alonso and is a worthy successor to Klopp. It will be interesting to see how the Liverpool hierarchy will take this data analysis.
