Using Lead Gen Form in Outgrow
Interactive Content has been proven to be most successful as a lead generation strategy.
On Outgrow, you can add a lead form On Welcome Screen, After Questions, Before Results, and With The Results page. You can add a lead generation form on the Welcome screen and gate your content.

Lead Generation on Welcome Page
You can customize the lead generation form by clicking on the Lead Generation icon on the right sidebar. Under the lead generation properties panel on the right side, you can choose where you'd like to place the lead form. You can also customize the heading button text, fields, and placeholder for the fields to suit your context.

You can customize the lead generation form by clicking on the Lead Generation icon in the right-side navigation bar. Under the lead generation properties panel on the right side, you can choose where you'd like to place the lead form.

You can also customize the CTA Button Text, Lead Form Fields & Placeholder for the fields to suit your context.

NOTE: You can also enable the Login With Facebook option to allow users to use their Facebook account for lead information.
In case your Lead Gen form is on the Results Page, you can display a Thank You Message as well, once the lead is submitted.

You can allow users to Skip the lead form as well by providing them a convenient Skip button.

Keep in Mind
Depending on where you keep the lead generation form, certain properties may not be editable. For example, if the lead generation form is placed on the welcome screen, you may not be able to add a heading (as the welcome screen already has its own headline).
You can add as many fields as you want to the form. However, we encourage keeping it short.
Under the Advanced sub-tab on the Lead Gen form, you can enable the Do No Allow Duplicate Leads setting. You can pick and choose which fields need to be checked to restrict duplicates. For example - for some businesses Email ID de-duplication is important whereas some businesses do not allow duplicate combinations of Name and Email Address.

Validate Email
With Outgrow you can restrict invalid emails using the Email Validation feature on the Lead Generation form. This helps in improving deliverability and reducing Email bounce rate.

Emails are categorized as either "deliverable," "undeliverable," "risky," or "unknown." Here's what each means:
Types | Description |
---|---|
Personal Emails | This means the email address should not be in yahoo.com or gmail.com format, should not be in any personal email domains. |
Disposable Email | Emails that have a temporary address that expires after a certain time period elapses. These can be restricted by checking the box. |
Low Deliverability Emails | We will return an unknown result when we are unable to get a response from the recipient's mail server. These have low open rates and hence signal to ISPs that your recipients are not engaged with you, your brand, or your content. |
*Our Email validation disallows Risky Email addresses. Please note that Accept All, Disposable, and Role addresses are classified as Risky.
Types Of Email Addresses
Accept All
Some domains accept all emails you send to them, even if the email address is not valid. After an email is sent, the recipient mail server may silently discard the message or send a bounce message after the fact. Capturing an Accept All lead and sending them emails may increase your bounce rates and/or lower your open rates. Therefore, use a degree of caution when sending to Accept All domains.
Role Email Address
A role email is an address that's typically associated with a function (postmaster, support, sales, etc.) instead of a person. In some instances, mailing to a role address can lead to a decreased open rate and is generally advised against while sending marketing email.
Few Important Updates
A. Point 1: When you show a lead gen form on the welcome screen, the notification email will be triggered using criteria, i.e., 10 seconds multiplied by the number of questions. This is for Native Integrations only.
B. Point 2: You can now allow users to upload a file on the Lead Gen form. To add a file upload field on the form, click on the Add Field option and then choose Others as the Field Type.
C. **You can now add a Date/Time Picker field in the Lead Gen form. For this, you can add a new field with Others as the Field Type and Date/Time Picker as the Field Sub-Type. *
