Information Regarding the Default Cookies Used in Outgrow

How to enable the Allow Cookies setting in your Outgrow dashboard

In Outgrow you have the ability to allow the usage of cookies to track your users. The cookie usage functionality can be enabled under General & SEO settings present in the Configure tab. Once the setting will be toggled on, the cookie usage policy will be displayed at the bottom of the live version of your Outgrow content piece. A user can choose to Accept or Reject the cookie usage policy.

What all cookies are used by Outgrow?

While the content pieces you build on Outgrow are used by your potential partners, If Allow Cookies feature is enabled and the user accepts the cookie usage policy, then we use the below-mentioned cookies:

A. Cookie Name: _ga : This is a Performance cookie related to Google Analytics / Web Analytics.
B. Cookie Name: _gid : This is a Performance cookie related to Google Analytics / Web Analytics.
C. Cookie Name: _gat : This is a Performance cookie related to Google Analytics / Web Analytics.
D. Cookie Name: outgrow_cookie : This cookie is a Performance cookie and is used for tracking unique User Analytics data including tracking the number of people who visited the page etc.
E. Cookie Name: OG_GDPR_COOKIE : This cookie is related to GDPR compliance. This is a Functionality cookie that is used to see if a user has accepted the cookie policy or not. This cookie controls the initialization of the above-mentioned cookies, depending on whether or not the user has accepted the cookie usage policy.

What PII data is being collected using these cookies?

In addition to any data you capture through your Outgrow content piece itself using Questions, Lead Generation form, URL parameters, etc, we also capture the following PII data:

A. IP address
B. Location as City, State, Country (based on IP)
C. Device Type
D. Browser Name
