Live Content Hosting And Leaderboard Functionality
Live Content Hosting is a dynamic new feature in Outgrow that allows you to host Assessments & Polls as moderators in real time. This feature is designed to engage audiences and foster interaction during live sessions, as moderators can manage sessions effectively, display real-time rankings, and keep participants engaged with live updates.
Using this document, you can learn more about configuring and using this functionality in Outgrow.
Important Note
A. This functionality is only available for Graded Assessment & Poll content types. Also, you need to make sure that you are not using Card Style layout for the specified content.
B. Moderators have full control over the session flow, questions, and timing.
C. Display real-time participant rankings at the end to add a competitive edge.
Getting Started with Setting up the Live Content Hosting
A. Login to your Outgrow account, and select the respective content type (Graded Assessment or Poll) that you would like to create. You can choose between building the content from scratch or using an existing template in our premade library.
B. Once your content opens in Build mode, go to the Live Hosting tab in the left-side navigation bar.
C. Enable the toggle for live hosting in order for the feature to be activated.
IMPORTANT NOTE
In case you are building an Assessment Quiz, you need to ensure that the Quiz Review & Auto Progression features are turned off.
D. Post enabling the toggle for Live Hosting, add the Heading or Subheading that will be displayed on the Leader Board.
E. Once everything is set up, you can click on Go Live & Present.
F. As a moderator, you can edit the session name and can open the Presentation page on the screen. Users can either manually type the session link in the browser or scan the QR code. To join the session, users will have to input the session code. NOTE: The Participant Count & Submission Count will be displayed at the bottom of the presentation page on a real-time basis.
G. Once the moderator clicks on Start Presentation, the journey of the users will be controlled by the moderator.
H. Once the users have gone through the content, the moderator can click on End Session, and can then click on View Analytics to open the Leaderboard Analytics.
I. The leaderboard automatically arranges the participants based on their scores and rankings.
J. Users at their end will see their ranking at the top, followed by the scores of other participants.
Important Note
- Late joiners can participate in the session from the point they join; however, they will miss out on earlier questions that have already been answered.
- You can also enable the setting for Top Respondents Per Question setting under the Live Hosting tab, to show a graph of top responders for each question.
