Showing Feedback for each Question in an Email or PDF using Feedback variable

Outgrow now lets you share feedback that a user gets for every option selected in a Graded Assessment using the User Notification Email or in PDF, available for download at the end of the assessment. This functionality can be helpful when you want to send a comprehensive report to the user containing options selected, feedback for each question, and the score received by the user.

How to configure Feedback for a question in your content

1. Login to your Outgrow dashboard and open the respective content in Build mode.

2. Open the respective question, for which you want to show feedback to the user upon option selection. You can add the feedback for the respective options in the particular question.

3. In the Preview pane, you can get an overview of how the feedback will appear for the end users.

4. In case you want to show the feedback as a pop-up message, you can toggle on the setting for Show As A Pop-Up. Make sure you click on Publish to save the changes.

5.Now, in case you want to add the feedback variable in the User Notification Email or in the PDF available for the users to download, you can follow the below-mentioned steps:

5.1. Navigate to the Configure tab, then navigate to the respective sub-tab and customize the text as required. To add the feedback in the Email or PDF, use {Qno_Feedback} variable. For example, if you want to show the feedback received for Q1, add {Q1_Feedback} variable in the email or pdf.

6. Once the changes are made, click the Publish button to save the changes.

7. Once the user goes through your content, the feedback will be shown on the Results/Outcome Page and will be shared in the Notification Email or available for download in the PDF as per the configuration in your Outgrow content.

IMPORTANT NOTE

Currently, you can add the Feedback Variable in Email or PDF only for Graded Assessment or for Single Select Question Type in Numerical Calculators.
